Then it wants an escape but you can't go anywhere. You have to present and calm for your family's sake so the little green creature takes a journey for you. Lucky for you, the hospital has reproductions of Van Gogh and Monet paintings.

She makes the mistake of letting you have her little green creature. She's new to the hospital experience and doesn't know what to do with it. I've been here a week already and my brain needs a distraction. First, I try to be clever... that lasted about two seconds next to the coffee shop sign.

In a way, your brain is both panicked and numb. You don't know if she's getting better or worse. Every day the answer seems different. Then your sister visits, carrying a small green little thing her kids gave her for good luck and your brain can be distracted.

... I don't know if people know this but waiting around in a hospital "waiting room" while someone you love is sick can be hard. It can be nerve racking in an even smaller waiting room.
